• Scripture: 2 Corinthians 4:1-18
• Conclusion: Our resolve to be faithful to God's call is enhanced by being mindful that God Himself is the source, sustainer and the one who shows us how to make sense of this call in the midst of the challenges of our circumstance.
• Response: Let us, therefore, keep His purpose and enabling power before us, thereby keeping our composure in godly pathways and so experience His peace in the surging forces of our circumstance.

• Scripture: Genesis 39:1-12
• Conclusion: In order to shape good character, we must pursue and practice godly pathways as follows: Relationship with God, Responsibility towards our life and work, Refusal to engage in wrongdoing, Respect for principle and propriety, Reverence for our Holy God, Resistance in the name of God, Removal of self from compromising circumstances, Readiness to face the consequences of standing up for what is right and Reliance on God, not in the ability of self. These we must choose and strive for as Joseph in the text does a masterful job in demonstrating effective pathways that can help us establish godly character in all of life.

• Scripture: Romans 12:1-8
• Conclusion: In Romans 12:1-8, Paul reminds us that each of us has a distinct and vital part to play in the life of the Church. God calls us to surrender our personal agendas, seek His clear direction, and utilize with humility and faithfulness the unique gifts He has bestowed upon us. While our specific roles and seasons of service may change, we are called to serve wherever God places us — not for the sake of position or human recognition, but for God's glory and the edification of the entire body of Christ.

Sunday, August 23rd: For Reaching Out for Converts

• Scripture: Romans 10:1-17
• Conclusion: God is looking for available messengers to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ so that hearts may be changed. Start with prayer for the salvation of the lost. Pray for burdened for lives to be transformed. Pray for wisdom and boldness to tell others the Good News. Be persistent. Place confidence in the Word of God. Be confident in the Holy Spirit's work proclaiming God's Word through us. Transformation comes through the work of the Holy Spirit, not through gimmicks and strategies. The book for the lost is in God's magnificent love manifested through us. Preach Jesus.

• Scripture: Revelation 22:1-21
• Conclusion: We must think deeply about how to live a faithful life now so that God will honor and reward us when Jesus returns. This demands that the believer understands and focuses on Jesus' final promises in the Bible regarding His sudden return, His ultimate divine judgement based on a person's actions, His eternal and divine nature and the blessed assurance of eternal life for those who keep His word.

Sunday, July 5th: ... in Our Attitude as an Independent Country

• Scripture: Psalm 33:1-2
• Conclusion: The psalmist expressed his awareness of the praise due to God because of God's worth and the wonders He performs, along with His evaluating watch over the earth and the assurance He affords those who humbly conform to His will.
• Response: Let us, therefore, encourage and pray for leaders of nations, particularly our own, that they may give God His due reverence and responsively acknowledge that His blessings and wrath are tied to the respective levels of conformity to His will in all things.

• Conclusion: We must prepare ourselves to properly handle a person's curiosity about Jesus, in how we direct their attention to Jesus, develop their understanding of Jesus and demonstrate responsiveness to Jesus.
• Response: Let us, therefore, make it very obvious that our ultimate aim is to be true and faithful soldiers in God's salvation army, by seeking to obey his command to reach out in his love to others that they too may experience his gracious rule in their lives.

• Scripture: Colossians 2:1-23
• Conclusion: Paul's great desire for churches was that they would know and give themselves fully to the fullness of the restoration with the Heavenly Father, through the liberating and enabling work of the Son and the Spirit.
• Response: Let us, therefore, in this Parkway church, be intent on being the faithful and flourishing bride of Christ, maintaining this identity in all the ways we interact with life in all its various aspects and so reflect the character of God.
